For some reason Kodie doesn't see the difference in the original and the edited one? 
So I put them next to each other.
For some reason in her eyes, editing is only making the picture like..crazy bright or making some huge, drastic change to it? idk
I was really proud of this pic too and she just kinda...shut me down xD;

I think 'improved' for this photo is speculative in one sense and correct in the other.
It is correct in that the photo on the right has better white balance and good sharpening. Its speculative because the different colour scheme may appeal to some and not to others.
This may be why your friend did not like the photo on the right; she may not be a fan of that colour scheme. Technically it is improved though. ^-^
